JobTube is an app where content creators can hire easily and effectively YouTube specialists.

Simultaneously, these specialists can showcase their work and get full-time contracts.

Personal Project

01

PROBLEM

Growing YouTube channels need professionals such as editors and thumbnail artists on their team to create content effectively.

Content creators often struggle to locate these specialists due to the absence of a dedicated platform for this purpose.

At the same time, specialists, who want long-term contracts, lack a suitable platform to exhibit their work and secure new clients.

02

DISCOVERY & RESEARCH

I conducted in-depth interviews and surveys with both YouTube Creators and Specialists. My goal was to understand their problems and needs.

04

USER STORIES

I used the Competitive Analysis results to ideate user stories from the perspective of both the Creator and the YouTube Specialist.

The aim was to understand what they would expect to achieve within the app.

06

THE SOLUTION

After finishing the research phase I analysed all the results obtained.

I concluded I needed to create an app to facilitate effortless, efficient, and rapid connections between Creators and Specialists.

All the processes from finding to hiring should be done within the app.

08

LOW FIDELITY WIREFRAMES

After finishing the research phase I analysed all the results obtained.

I concluded I needed to create an app to facilitate effortless, efficient, and rapid connections between Creators and Specialists.

All the processes from finding to hiring should be done within the app.

10

RESULTS

I presented the app to the creators and specialists who participated in the initial research process. Their reactions were extremely positive. They were really excited about it.

Since this is a personal project, the app isn't currently live. However, I'm considering ways to change that and bring it to life.

Captivatingly, after finishing this project, I found a new competitor called vouch.app. They're still in the "get early access" phase but their product is very similar to what I built.

This discovery further validates the existence and importance of the problem I am trying to solve with this app.

05

USER FLOWS

User stories helped me define the main user flows, providing insight into how Creators and Specialists will navigate the app.

  • From the Creator side I developed user flows for both Contacting a Specialist and Posting a job offer.

  • From the Specialist side I developed user flows for both Creating their profiles and Applying for a job.

07

IDEATION

I initiated the process by looking for inspiration and creating an inspiration board.

After that, I began brainstorming and writing down all possible ideas for low-fidelity wireframes.

I used all the research to define the features I will then add to the app.

09

TESTING AND HIGH-FIDELITY WIREFRAMES

Once I finished low-fidelity wireframes I started designing high-fidelity wireframes.

Once I was confident enough I initiated multiple rounds of testing with some specialists and creators.

I received feedback from them and made some changes and iterations until I got to the final solution.

03

Competitive analysis

From the interviews, I found that there is only one competitor: YT Jobs. I got many negative comments about this platform.

In order to analyse it in an easier way I created 2 tables. The first table was to analyse the feedback received.

The second table was to look at supply and demand on this platform.

YT Jobs data demonstrated that the number of people looking for a job is extremely higher than the job offers.
